Composition:
Each softgel contains 1000mg fish
oil 30% (180mg EPA/120mg DHA) Action:
Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) is a member
of the Omega-3 fatty acid family. EPA is required for the
production of a special group of substances in the body called
prostaglandins, which control blood clotting and other arterial
functions. EPA also provides a natural approach to lower serum
triglycerides. Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA), a major component
of the human brain tissues and the retinal tissues of the
eyes also serves the other important function of the transmission
of nerve impulses in the nervous system.
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic
acid (DHA) are both important omega-3 fatty acids in nutrition.
Omega 3 fatty acids help prevent and fight heart disease,
cancer, depression, arthritis, Alzheimer's disease, ulcers,
diabetes, hyperactivity and other diseases. Omega 3 fatty
acids increase your ability to concentrate as well as your
energy level.
The most beneficial form of Omega-3
fatty acids, containing 2 fatty acids, EPA and DHA which are
essential in preventing and fighting both physical and mental
illness, can be found only in fish.
Information about Omega 3 fish oil
1. May Fight rheumatoid arthritis:
Omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acid
which is found in fish oil may prevent or decrease rheumatoid
arthritis: According to the Institute of Human Nutrition,
University of Southampton, a number of double-blind, placebo-controlled
trials of gamma-linolenic acid and fish oil in rheumatoid
arthritis have shown significant improvements in a variety
of clinical outcomes.
2. May boost immune function:
Omega 3 Fatty Acids may boost immune
function. According to the Proc Nutrition Society, fatty acids
from fish oils increase the survival and reduce disease severity
in spontaneous autoantibody mediated disease.
3. May help ward off Diabetes:
Omega 3 fatty acids may help ward
Off Diabetes. According to a Reuters Health report, omega-3
fatty acids appear to improve insulin function in overweight
individuals who are vulnerable to type 2 diabetes. 3 months
of daily supplementation with DHA produced a "clinically
significant" improvement in insulin sensitivity in overweight
study participants, according to Dr. Yvonne Denkins, a nutrition
researcher at the Pennington Biomedical Research Institute.
4. Research on improving memory and
increasing brain efficiency:
Researchers took 26 normal adult volunteers
and gave them a test that determined their p300 (brain waves)
rate. Immediately after taking the test, they were given supplements
of either EPA or DHA (both are derivatives of Omega-3 from
fish). Two hours later, their brain waves were measured, and
this time the p300 rate was significantly faster in the group
given the DHA supplements.
5. May reduce the risk of heart attack:
Omega-3 Fatty Acids appear to reduce
the risk of heart attack and stroke, and to improve heart
health in general. Researchers at the Veterans Affairs Medical
Center report that docosapentaenoic acid (DPA) and docosahexaenoic
acid (DHA), a primary component of Omega-3's, provide significant
protection against the development of coronary heart disease
(CHD). Their study involved over 6,000 middle-aged men.
